Due to an incident involving one of our member clubs, the GCN Council has decided to review the details of all our Member Clubs to ensure all our clubs comply with the GCN’s Code of Practice.

Although this may involve some additional paperwork, the Council feels this is essential to ensure all our Member Clubs are safe places for all hobbyists, and especially our younger members, to enjoy their pastime.

As part of this review, we are suspending any member clubs whose contact details can not be confirmed and/or who do not have a current (within two years) Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check from the Gaming Club Network.

The post of Castalain of the Sword, responsible for gaming and events within the GCN, has become vacant and we are looking for willing volunteers to come forward to fill the post until the next AGM and elections. If you are interested, or know someone who would be, please contact Richard Kerry (high.castalain@gamingclubnetwork.org) before the end of the month.

At the last GCN Council meeting, we met with Alessio Cavatore, who wanted to talk to us about his new board game Shuuro. He was talking about the possibilities of running tournaments and about working together at shows and conventions. It was also suggested that a review of the game could be written for the Castalain, shortly following by the statement "You play board games Geoff, you can do it". So I have.

I've had a number of questions about the state of the database or on the information given on an individual club. So I thought I give a quick update.
