Special Notices : Mission Statement and Vision
Posted by neathleanan on 2010/7/5 16:50:00 (121 reads)

After the last AGM, I was charged with putting a group together to review the constitution. However it became very obvious that the first thing to look at was actually our core objectives and purpose. In short, to provide a concise answer to the question "What is the GCN for?". These two elements, the Mission Statement and Vision, seek to answer that question and will replace the seven objectives of the organisation listed in section 1 of the constitution.

From this start point, we have also established the scope of the organisation (the type of clubs that should be members) and some actions to help us move forward. The next stage will be to use this to review the rest of constitution later in the year. Then the complete package will be presented to the membership to be voted upon at the next AGM in January 2011.

Please forward any specific comments, questions, or suggestions to constitution@gamingclubnetwork.org.

2010 AGM & Council Elections

The GCN AGM will be held on the 30th January at Warhammer World. The official notice and election slips will be forwarded to clubs later this month. The closing date for council nominations is the 20th December and this should be sent to the GCN Secretary Gareth Williams (secretary@gamingclubnetwork.org).

As of today the following candidates are standing:
- President: Richard Kerry (The Sad Muppet Society), Si Crocker
- Vice President: Laurie Stewart (Leeds Night Owls)
- Treasurer: Steve Nolan (Leeds Games Club)
- Secretary: Gareth Williams (Chelmsford Bunker)
- Promotions Officer: Dan Currey (Bracknell Forest Gamers)

There will be more information about the elections, including statements from the candidates, on the website over the next couple of weeks.

Promotions Officer

Si Crocker has resigned from the role of Promotions Officer (Castalain of the Watch) with immediate effect. The Council would like to extend its gratitude for Si's time, effort and hard work for the GCN and community. The position will remain vacant until the AGM and Council Elections in January. In the meantime Laurie Stewart will take over the majority of Si's responsibilities.
